Opis projekta:
FAZA 1: Ven iz omare!
Prvi del projekta je predstavljalo zbiranje rabljenih oblačil.
K sodelovanju
na projektu Dresscode sva avtorici s pomočjo sredstev javnega obveščanja, letakov in elektronske pošte povabili zainteresirane posameznice in posameznike. Zbiranje
FAZA
2: Nazaj v omaro!
V drugem delu projekta smo zbrana oblačila brezplačno oddali.
Kraj: Kiberpipa, Kersnikova 6, Ljubljana

A project description:
PHASE
1: Out of the closet!
The first part of the project involved collecting of secondhand clothes.
Interested
individuals were invited to participate in Project Dresscode by means of media
announcements, fliers, and electronic mail. The clothes collection took place September 16-20, 2002 at Kiberpipa.
We - the authors - accepted only clothes that were still in good shape. We conducted brief interviews with everyone who
donated clothing. Donors were invited to contribute any personal story or anecdote connected with the donated item of clothing. We recorded each story, edited it to an appropriate length, and entered it into a computer database. Each item of donated clothing we assigned its own barcode, which we printed out and attached to the item. The barcode corresponded to the related story in the computer database.
PHASE
2: Back to the closet!
In the second part, the clothes were given away for free.
Location:
Cyberpipe, Kersnikova 6, Ljubljana
Time: Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, from 12.00 am till 9.00 pm
Authors organised a showing of the donated clothes collection "Dresscode" in Cyberpipe.
Visitors were invited to pick out the clothing they want, decode the attached story, and take them both
home with them.
The place of the performance was arranged like a clothes store, and a cash register station was installed. Visitors were able to browse through the collected clothing and tryed on whatever they liked. Any visitor who wished to take an item of clothing home had to go to the cash register to accomplish "a purchase". The “cashier” (a performer) scanned the barcode attached to the item of clothing. The “shopper” then received a printout, in the form of a “receipt,” of the story that is associated with the chosen item. A photography of the new clothing owners completed the process.
DJ Borka was on the decks.
Conclusion
49 donors have answered the invitation, contributing approximately 130 pieces of clothing in all. Out of 130 items of clothing, approx. 90 were taken home by new owners. One suit was donated to the Museum of Costume Design in Maribor, while the rest of the Dresscode collection was donated to refugees in the Postojna Refugee Center.
