The »Mortality Table « project is named after an actuarial table which shows, for a person at each age, the probability of surviving any particular year of age. Life expectancy for men and women is calculated separately. This table is used by insurance companies to calculate life annuities. According to the statistics, women outlive men. Insurance companies use this as an excuse to pay out lower pensions to women even though they make the same payments for the same number of years as men.
An art project in the form of a thematic chocolate bar
The project consists of a batch of hand-made milk chocolate bars imprinted with the data of life expectancy for men and women. The calculations are based on the DAV 1994R table which the Slovenian insurance companies are obliged to use. The project aims to inform through pleasure. With it I would like to call your attention to the way the insurance industry uses the demographic statistics, which I feel is a form of hidden discrimination against women in capitalism.
Presentations:
The promotional events will be hosted by partner organisations. The chocolate will be available for their participants. It is also possible to order the chocolate!
The first promotion will be in Tuesday, September 29th at 11.00 a.m. at the press conference of the 15th International Festival of Contemporary Arts €“ City of Women in Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana.
The chocolate will be on display also at the info points of the 9th Festival for the Third Life Period between September 30th and October 2nd in Cankarjev dom.
In the October and November will be the project included in the side programs of the City of Women festival and Documentaries in Maribor – DokMa 2009 festival, and in the offer of the Azil Bookstore.
You are also invited to the round table in October 28th at 6.00 p. m. at the Alkatraz Gallery in Ljubljana.

Summer Songs, drugi projekt dua The Silent Movies, je umetniško okolje, sestavljeno iz vrste virov vizualnih, zvočnih in verbalnih informacij, ki so med seboj odvisni. Generative algorithmic composition excerpts based on realtime video data for Francisco Tomsich "ELEGIJA | ELEGY" video installation presented from 10th to 21st July 2020 at Cirkulacija 2 Ljubljana Slovenia. Elegija (Elegy) is a mournful song performed by ensemble of video installations, sculptures and sound installation – made specifically for Cirkulacija 2 premises in Ajdovščina subway.
Field recordings in air and water during the Cirkulacija 2 visit in Finland. The place of rest and contemplation was at Future Lake near Helsinki and the performance place was on Merikerho club/ ship in Helsinki harbor. Boštjan Leskovšek was using the underwater recordings as his instrument. Here it is as separate album.
