Welcome to the Safe House!
This site offers an opportunity to share individual experiences related to the arts, culture, politics, and economics. The Safe House is open for your participation. How do you see yourself with regard to the arts, economics, and politics? What are the relationships between these fields? How do political and economic changes affect your life? Are you politically more involved now than you used to be? Does art still offer a "safe house"? Is a safe house possible?
This project represents a continuation of a series of private conversations that took place in Brooklyn in 2003 among a small circle of international artists and their friends. You can listen to selected audio recordings of these sessions. You are invited to join in the conversation by adding your own stories, thoughts, suggestions, or comments.
